KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 6): Mestron Holdings Bhd has secured another RM13 million worth of orders for its telecommunications segment, after bagging a RM17.5 million job from the national digital infrastructure plan, namely National Digital Network (Jendela), back in June this year.
In a statement on Tuesday (Aug 6), Mestron noted the orders secured are under the Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) and Universal Service Provision (USP) projects. DNB is actively rolling out its 5G deployment while USP initiatives bridge the digital divide between developed and underserved areas.
“The orders that we managed to secure are a testimony to the group’s commitment and track record in the telco sector.
“With the government’s commitment to pushing forward with its agenda to improve connectivity across the nation and it goes beyond the Jendela initiatives, both the projects promise extensive growth opportunities for the group,” said Mestron managing director Por Teong Eng.
According to Por, the RM13 million worth of contracts are expected to be completed within the next six months and contribute positively to the group’s revenue in the near term. This brought its total order book secured year to date (YTD) to RM53 million.
“It has been a busy year for us as we have been awarded various contracts from different telco infrastructure players.
“The group’s track record in the industry is solid, and we are confident that we will benefit from the increase in telco infrastructure projects rollout in the near term,” he added.
The group generates its revenue mainly from the sales of its standard poles and specialty poles within the telco segment.
Mestron was up 1.35% or half a sen at 37.5 sen, which translates into a market capitalisation of RM348.9 million.
